Who We Are

Wexford Restorative Justice Service [WRJS] was formally launched in November 2020 by Minister of State at the Department of Justice, James Browne TD. WRJS is a partnership between the Probation Service, An Garda Siochana and the Cornmarket Project. Each organisation has a number of staff trained and qualified to conduct Restorative Justice interventions. WRJS is funded by the Department of Justice, through the Probation Service.

WRJS offers those who are victims of crime the opportunity to communicate in a safe way with their offender, with a view to receiving an apology, reparation, further information on the offence and its motivation, seek guarantees on future safety and commitments on future behaviour.

In addition, WRJS helps to deter members of the community from (further) offending by raising their levels of awareness and understanding with regard to the implications and effects of their behaviour on their victims, themselves, their respective families and the wider community.
